I recently had the chance to go to my first tech conference, DevOpsDays in Ljubljana. Since I was still new to DevOps, I wasn’t sure how much I would understand, but it turned out to be such an open and welcoming experience that I ended up learning a lot.

When we arrived, we were greeted with name tags and goodie bags, which also included some of our Pareto Security merch. Then we grabbed some coffee and went in for the opening ceremony.
There were three simultaneous tracks of talks to choose from, and it was hard to decide, as so many looked interesting. I really enjoyed Aleš Brelih’s “The Attacker’s Guide to CI/CD Pipeline”, where he explained some of the possible vulnerabilities and how to defend against them. I also attended a workshop by Viktor Vedmich, “Prompt Engineering with Anthropic Claude”, which was a hands-on session full of practical tips and tricks for getting the most out of Claude in development.
We also watched the lightning talks, which was a really interesting format to me; you can present anything as long as it’s under eight minutes. Janez gave an engaging talk about Pareto Security, and it was a lot of fun.
Overall, DevOpsDays Ljubljana was an inspiring introduction to the world of tech conferences, and I’m already looking forward to the next one.
